June 19, 2014 // Hannah + Kip
Alpine’s Hannah Maines first crossed paths with Kip Hacking in the elevator of their apartment complex the day she moved in. He offered to help her with the move and she politely declined. “I had to play it cool, of course,” Hannah says. They went on their first date to Slab Pizza and started dating. Eventually, Kip proposed at a Midway cabin with rose petals, a roaring fireplace and dozens of photos hung on a clothesline. “He got down on one knee and the rest is a blur because I was so ecstatic!” Hannah says. When it came time to plan the wedding, Hannah went with her instincts — and they proved as elegant as ever. “If I didn’t absolutely love it, I wouldn’t choose it,” Hannah says. “I wanted every detail of the wedding to be authentic to us as a couple. I reminded myself that the actual wedding was the most important part of the day, and everything else would fall into place.”
