Robby and Michelle met deep in the heart of Texas. The two were serving LDS missions in the Lonestar State and saw each other at weekly workout activities with all of their fellow missionaries. After Michelle came home, her former mission president called to check in and asked if she was writing Elder Millward (Robby). And so it began.
The two wrote each other as friends for the rest of his mission, and then Michelle surprised Robby the weekend he came home to Arizona. When she walked into his welcome home party, Robby had no idea — and the look on his face was priceless. “Especially since a few minutes before I walked in the door he had asked a girl on a date!” Michelle says. “Later Robbie asked me, ‘Why couldn’t you have walked in 20 minutes earlier?!'”
But he needn’t have worried. Two days later, they were on their first date. Two months later, they started dating. Five months later, they were engaged. And four months after that, they wed in the Provo City Center LDS Temple.
Their wedding day was a total party. The bride and groom looked beautiful, with Michelle in a custom gown and Robby in a killer suit from Perfectly Suited by Garth. They had their reception at The White Shanty in Provo, with JDawgs grilling outside and Penguin Brothers ice cream sandwiches flowing. Gorgeous greens lined the tables, cake, and Michelle’s bouquet. Guests had fun striking a pose in The Photo Booth Bus. And it was all captured so beautifully by photographer Valory Jean.
After throwing the bouquet and garter, dancing with parents (and each other), and cutting the cake, Michelle and Robby departed among sparklers and stars.
