Alexis + Nathan

Date
Apr, 30, 2018

It’s Magazine Monday! And we’re thrilled to share a closer look at the beyond beautiful wedding of Alexis and Nathan — featured in our 2018 glossy pages. Happy scrolling!

Alexis and Nathan were going to celebrate — come rain or come shine. After a bright and glorious day of hearts and flowers, the evening sky brought downpour and dancing. “About 10 minutes after we cut our cake, it poured!” Alexis says. “Everyone stuck around to wait out the storm, and we had the time of our lives on the dance floor. Spending the day with everyone you love is a unique experience. What a happy ending to our perfect day.”

PERFECT PROPOSAL “Nate proposed to me at one of our favorite places in Utah — Victory Ranch. It totally caught me by surprise! We had been invited ‘last minute’ to have dinner there with family, but when we arrived, they were ‘running late.’ Nate had this planned out perfectly and drove me to a beautiful and secluded spot by a river where he had lanterns and flowers waiting for the proposal. It took me a minute to realize it was for me, but the yellow roses gave it away. They are my favorite. After he proposed, all our friends and family were waiting to celebrate with us. Fireworks went off and the reality that we were actually engaged hit me. I was in tears and felt so special and loved.”

SPECIAL SONG “Our wedding song was La Vie En Rose. Our band sang their own rendition and it was absolutely beautiful! Nate had sung it to me on the beach at Bear Lake. We were on vacation with his family and we went for a walk along the shore. After a little ways we stopped and started dancing and he sang La Vie En Rose. That was when I knew I was in love with him.”

IF THE SHOE FITS “The shoes I wore to our reception meant so much to me. My dad surprised me with white Nikes and replaced the laces with white ribbons. I woke up on the morning of my wedding day to those cute shoes with a note from my dad that said, ‘Alexis — Have an amazing day! You deserve it. I love you! Love, Dad.”

PICTURE THIS Alexis and Nathan’s wedding was overflowing with love — and flowers! “I wanted flowers to overwhelm the reception,” Alexis says. “I go crazy over beautiful flowers, and Heidi at Over the Top Events was so creative and amazing at making our vision come to life!” That meant flowers charmed the tent, the tables, the cake and the chandelier, plus the bouquets, the headpieces, and the floral crowns. Guests dined on tacos — the cuisine of the couple’s first date. And from the romantic lighting to the incredible linens, every detail of their backyard celebration was as elegant as it was intimate. “My favorite thing about our venue was that it was in my own backyard,” Alexis says. “It made the wedding even more sentimental because we were able to celebrate our marriage in the place I grew up. My parents’ home is so special and happy to me.”
