Love at First Dive

MAY 24, 2015 // Mackenzie + Aaron

Mackenzie and Aaron met through a mutual friend — skydiving. Mackenzie had been spending her weekends jumping at Skydive Utah, and Aaron moved from North Carolina to take a job as a tandem instructor there. “Aaron is a very quiet man and was pretty shy at first. Frankly, I did everything I could to get him to notice me.” Jumping out of planes together oughta do it! “It works as a decent ice-breaker,” Mackenzie says. Their first date took place at Sundance where Mackenzie was working at the time. The proposal came on Christmas Eve during a gift exchange. Mackenzie’s last gift for Aaron was a watch. His last gift to her he gave on one knee. As for the wedding planning, the big decisions came easy. “I fell in love with this dress when I was about 16. By the time I actually got engaged, eight years later, the dress was no longer available. I searched everywhere for it and about a month before my wedding it just so happened that I stumbled across the very dress online in my exact size.” The couple had their bridals in Moab against the natural backdrop of red rock. During the visit, they collected red stones that they used in their centerpieces. Once the big day came, Mackenzie and Aaron were walking on air. “My husband’s favorite moment was watching me walk down the aisle knowing I was about to be his wife.”
