Georgina Vaughn and Kris Templeton’s fairy tale romance started in middle school. They grew up together in Las Vegas, but Georgina says Utah will always be their special place. It’s where they first vacationed together, where they first said “I love you,” and where Kris proposed. He popped the question at breathtaking La Caille, where they were later married.

Weddings are all about magical moments, and Georgina’s wedding day was nothing short of once-in-a-lifetime status.

It started with Georgina’s best friend of 23 years, Anita, waking her up with a confetti bomb and screaming, “It’s your wedding day!” The sentimental moments kept flowing when Georgina’s mom gave her a special gift. It was a piece of her own wedding veil and Georgina’s grandmother’s and great-grandmother’s wedding veils, which the bride pinned to her dress. Throughout the day, Kris had arranged for Georgina’s bridesmaids to give her photos of significants moments in the couple’s relationship with his thoughts scrawled on the back. Talk about groom of the year!

The bride’s favorite moment of the day was when Kris saw her for the first time in her wedding gown. “He just kept repeating ‘look at my beautiful bride’ with such love in his eyes,” Georgina says. “It was a feeling and a moment I will never forget.”

GET THE PICTURE Kris and Georgina’s summer nuptials were an exercise in “go big or go home.” As a pageant photographer (and a Miss Utah USA sponsor), Georgina knows a thing or two about beauty — and every inch of her wedding was powerfully pretty. With wedding planner extraordinaire Michelle Leo Events, Georgina infused a combination of masculine and feminine elements in the table settings. Silk blush linens with lush blooms for her, and whitewash wood tables with natural linens for him. Quality florals were important because Kris is a landscaper — and no petal was left unpicked. The out-of-this-world floral arch doubled as a table runner, and hanging blooms were everywhere. Because Georgina is a photographer for one of the largest bridal stores, Henri’s Cloud Nince, she designed a custom gown with a Swarovski-encrusted bodice and an 8-foot chiffon train. The stunning train was detachable so Georgina could take it off to dance the night away. After the perfect evening, Kris and Georgina spent the night at a cabin tucked away on La Caille property.
