It’s Magazine Monday! And what a gorgeous one it is. Here’s a closer look at Melanie and Greg’s wowza wedding from our glossy pages. And spoiler alert! Her catering, cake, flowers and photography are TO DIE FOR.

Melanie + Greg // May 14, 2016

Melanie Ferguson is an artist, and her work is inspired by growing up in the beautiful landscapes of Utah. So it’s only fitting that she married Greg Ferguson in the rustic and romantic setting of Maple Ridge Ranches in Oakley. The couple met through a mutual friend, and Greg proposed to Melanie on California’s Manhattan Beach at sunset. Melanie started the day getting ready with her bridesmaids — daughters Nichole and Carly. And she stayed true to her roots with her wedding day shoe choice: cowboy boots. “It fit with our ranch style wedding theme and I loved not having to wear heels I couldn’t walk in,” Melanie says. Then it was time for the wedding ceremony performed by pastor Anita Gordon. The couple’s friends and family looked on with happiness and well wishes — including Melanie and Greg’s pup Joey, a two-year-old Golden Retriever. Then the couple did a sand ceremony that signified the blending of their lives and families. After dining on truly glorious cuisine from Culinary Crafts (gourmet salmon and waffles, Chinese stir fry, beef tri tip with chimichurri), they danced the night away. “The dancing was a riot,” Melanie says. “Everyone dances at my house even if you don’t think you can dance that well.”

GET THE PICTURE Melanie enlisted an all-star team to make her wedding dreams come to life: Kristina Curtis behind the camera, Mary Crafts of Culinary Crafts for cuisine and wedding planning, and Roots Flowers adorning the aisle with the prettiest of petals. “They were all so professional and cared about every detail,” Melanie says. In addition to the main dishes served, Greg and Melanie’s wedding day fare included a smattering of small bites to snack on as well as a candy bar station for the kids. Turquoise flower boxes (that matched Melanie’s boots) filled to the brim with spring blooms made for stunning centerpieces. And that floral arch? Next level. Melanie’s wedding invitations, ordered on Etsy, came all the way from Poland. “My postmaster got a kick out of that!” Melanie says.
