Timpview high school grads Kendis Roney and Austin Saguibo first met on LDS missions in Paris, France. When the couple returned to Provo and started dating, they decided to visit Kendis’ parents, Nancy and Blake Roney (known to many as the founder of Provo’s Nu Skin), who were serving as LDS mission presidents in Lyon, France. On the trip, Austin proposed to Kendis and it took her by complete surprise.
First she said, “What?” And then she said yes, of course. They went into Paris and found the perfect ring that was sized on the spot. “I loved the way it all happened,” Kendis says. Austin and Kendis were sealed in the LDS Switzerland temple so her parents could attend. Following their international travels, they celebrated with friends and family at a reception in Kendis’ parents’ Provo backyard. Inspired by their French connections, the event had a French market theme brought to life by wedding planner Mark Williams.
