The courtship of Mandalee Ficklin and Mark Rosell was love at first light. Their first date was to the Festival of Lights in Spanish Fork, and they quickly became a couple. When Mark asked Mandalee to marry him, it was sweet, striking and simple — and solo. “He knew I would die if there was an audience,” says Mandalee, who’s from Orem. So with a beautiful halo ring and Provo Canyon as the backdrop, Mark asked Mandalee to be his Mrs. “I was so excited I almost forgot to say yes!” she says. But once she did, her life became a flurry of to-dos leading up to the May “I do.” Quite fittingly, her wedding was touched by light, bright shades. A sunny yellow dazzled her reception — all while keeping that sweet, understated elegance.
