Date With Fate

March 20, 2015 // Brittany + Joram

Brittany Molina and Joram Jensen had a date with fate. The Oregon girl met the Pleasant Grove boy at the University of Utah. She thought he had a deep voice. He thought she was smart. And they were inseparable ever since. When Brittany moved to San Francisco to work for Ernst and Young, Joram followed — and fell to one knee. “He sent me a note that said, ‘You’ve shown you’ll do anything to be together … time to prove it one more time … come find.’ He made me find him, and it took me to downtown San Francisco where he was waiting for me at the Palace of Fine Arts. He said all of this cutesy stuff and asked me to marry him. I dove into his face for a kiss!” Planning a Utah Valley wedding from afar came with challenges, but Brittany was calm (“I wasn’t much of a bridezilla”) and her soon-to-be mother-in-law was a wedding planning dream. Brittany focused in on photography. “I’m obsessed with pictures. I stalked Instagram for three months, and then I found Tyler Rye and was like, YEAH.” She bought her dress on Black Friday. “The best Black Friday purchase I’ve ever made!” And they got married on the most destined of dates. “When I found out Joram’s parents’ wedding anniversary was on a Friday, we knew it had to be that day. They are the best examples of what an incredible marriage is, so it was so cool to make the same promises and covenants they made exactly 29 years earlier.” Every day since that beautiful date has been some kind of wonderful. “Everyone says, I can’t believe it’s already been three months! But for me, I feel like I’ve known him forever. And I know I have. My soul definitely already knew his.”
