Oh Marry Day

Merry Christmas weekend, lovelies! Let’s eat cake and gaze at this holiday-inspired inspiration.

We are smitten with how light and airy these images are. The details are divine, and the couple is sweet.

Here’s what the photographer, Megan Hess, had to say about this charming shoot that has a Christmas vibe, but doesn’t knock you over the head with holly and tinsel.

“The inspiration for this shoot was an answer to a question I receive from many of my winter/holiday brides: ‘How do I make sure my Christmas time wedding not seem too Christmas-y?'” Meghan says. “For me, the answer was minimalism! Don’t push the theme or colors too far. I loved incorporating cedar pines, juniper berries, and blue thistles into the floral, as well as mixed berries on the cake and decor. All those details tell the story of the season without an obnoxious big red bow and tag.”

As for colors, it was a balance of traditional and today.

“The traditional red and green holiday colors were balanced by the dusty blue hue that took center stage,” Meghan says. “I loved using blue throughout all the details because it added the softness and romance I was looking for. The inclusion of natural wood added that slight masculine vibe I needed to harmonize with all the gorgeous feminine features.”

Merry, scrolling!
