HOMETOWN Hayden grew up in Idaho Falls and I grew up in Austin, Texas. Then both our families moved to Alpine. MEET CUTE Hayden took me on my first date to the aquarium when I turned 16. We lived a street apart and were great friends. After his LDS mission we started dating. The rest is history! PLANNING My mom worked countless hours to make my vision come to life. Both my family and Hayden’s family contributed to our civil ceremony, temple sealing, and reception. We are so lucky! ALL-STAR ACCESSORY My “something borrowed” and “something blue” — a bracelet that belonged to our dear family friend, Aunt Steph. She passed away when I was a little girl, but I felt her close that day. CEREMONY CRAZINESS In May we had our civil ceremony at Peterson Arboretum in Alpine, and 10 minutes before it started there was a microburst. Huge branches were falling all around us. It was scary. Despite the wind, it was still a special day I’ll never forget. PERSONAL TOUCH Hayden and I love games, so we had ping pong, corn hole and croquet at our October reception. MAGICAL MOMENT Walking down the aisle and seeing Hayden’s face when he saw me for the first time.
Emmeline and Hayden’s wedding was a two-part party thanks to Covid. In May they had their civil ceremony, and in October they had their LDS temple sealing followed by a reception at The Wild Oak. The reception venue had a distinctly earthy chic vibe with pampas grass chandeliers and a custom photo wall with the couple’s names carved into it. “Wild Oak has such a beautiful building and landscape,” she says. “Everywhere you look it’s gorgeous — from the flowers to the fountains to the fire pit.” And the cake? Every bit as delicious as it was flawless. “Creme brûlée is Hayden’s favorite dessert, so naturally we had to have it.”
