Beauty and the Feast

Date
Mar, 13, 2017

In celebration of Beauty and the Beast opening this week, what better Magazine Monday feature than our Beauty and the Feast inspiration from our glossy pages. Be our guest, friends!

Feast your eyes on this — the most delicious wedding inspiration there ever was.

From the magic mind of Mary Crafts, founder of Culinary Crafts, comes this fanciful feast set in the enchanted woods of Sundance. And from the red rose cupcakes to the stained glass wedding cake, every detail is straight out of a fairy tale.

Come be the Belle of our ball.

Scroll through the incredible images above, press play on the divine video here, and then read about the delicious details below.

LOVING YOU IS RED In designing the menu, Mary added a splash of red to every course — berries with the cheeses, beets in the salad, blood orange sorbet intermezzo and roasted tomatoes in the entrée, to name a few.

DREAM SEAMS How dreamy are the sleeves and the skirt on this Harlow Brides gown? (The dreamiest.) And we’re more than obsessing over its gorgeous gray shade. Plus, here’s a planning tip from Mary: “Once you have made your decisions with flowers, food, clothing, etc., stop looking at magazines and Pinterest and just be in love with the choices you’ve made.”

ROSE-COLORED GLASSES Have you picked your jaw up off the floor yet? Because for the love, this stained glass cake is beyond. Takeaway tip: If you pick a theme for your wedding, deliver on it.

ASK THE DISHES! We’re salivating over the pork saltimbocca with roasted roma tomatoes and fried sage. And that place setting could not be prettier with the red velvet table runner, gold flatware and gray stoneware. “I love the look of mixed metallic colors and textures rather than matchy-matchy,” Mary says. Also, it has to be said. “Try the gray stuff. It’s delicious! Don’t believe me? Ask the dishes!” (You’re welcome.)

SCENE STEALER It’s hard to beat an opulent table set in the woods. And those gold candelabras! Absolutely luminous. “Selecting the right venue sets the tone for the entire event,” Mary says.

SLICE OF HEAVEN Breads, cheeses, meats, berries — who could ask for anything more?

NOTHING BUNDT LOVE These black forest petite bundt cakes are melting our chocolate-loving hearts.

DRINK IT IN The bride’s signature drink is this gorgeous (and appropriately red) Hibiscus Rose. Whether it be with a cocktail or a mocktail, we always love a beautiful toast to the future.

WAX STRONG The paper suite is equal parts romantic and ethereal. But that wax seal on the envelope seals the deal.

THE PERFECT PAIR Gold-dipped red pears covered in glass domes? A tale as old as time.
