Copper, meet cobalt. And stay together forever, please! The inspiration for Copper + Cobalt came from a mix of modern simplicity and raw natural elements. “We wanted our focus to be on intimacy and simple beauty — the burnished glint of copper against deep blue,” says photographer Claire Marika. “The visuals were sparked from the textures and colors of our home state’s scenery; wild yet simple. The mountains rise from the edge of the city and the valley lies flat along the shores of the lake.”
The designer, Braelynn, is always experimenting with different mediums to create raw and authentic art. “To set the scene, she used hand painted tapestries, modern calligraphic details, a minimal cake decked out in spun sugar, a raw herkimer diamond ring, and of course, a fully stocked bar,” Claire says. “The tapestries that fall behind the couple are a replica of sky-piercing mountains looming in the distance. The spun sugar around the cake mimics the reflection of the sun dressing the city in gold. The bride’s ring was custom made to mirror the look of raw and organic salt.”
That vision and attention to detail led to this incredible collaboration. The colors are bold and striking — and yet stunningly serene.
