Paper Passion and Stunning Stationery: Anthology Print

Date
Aug, 12, 2024

Since 2009, Anthology Print has been capturing the beauty of Utah’s weddings in unique and luxurious ways. With a passion for paper and a love for design, Kim Clawson and her husband Bryan have been printing announcements and save-the-dates for couples across the country for over 15 years. Whether you’re looking for a completely customized design and stationary, or seeking a reliable printer for your own artistic vision, Anthology can cater to every need of every bride.

Who Doesn’t Love Fancy Paper?

With a minor in art and a husband with expertise in graphic design, Kim jumped at the chance to create a source for brides who wanted the best design and print experience available.

“I know this is going to sound really weird but I like paper. I really like going and just feeling journals at book stores, new notebooks are awesome. I just really like paper.” We’re with Kim on this one—who says we don’t need another cute little notebook? For wedding planning purposes of course.

“I would design completely from scratch every single time.” In the decade and a half since its start, Anthology has grown from face-to-face consultations in a tiny office to streamlined offerings, allowing brides to select from pre-designed templates or opt for fully custom creations.

Fully Customized or Do-It-Yourself

Today, Anthology caters to three main types of brides:

The Custom Bride: These brides seek a unique design tailored specifically for them. The process involves in-depth consultations via Zoom, email, or in-studio meetings, where every detail is customized, from colors to overall design, and is wrapped up in a gorgeous display of stationary elegant enough to make even royalty jealous.

The Semi-Custom Bride: These brides prefer to select from existing designs available on Anthology‘s website, tweaking elements like colors to match their wedding theme. This option offers a balance of personalization and convenience—bringing the look of luxury in your final display that you’re going for.

The DIY Bride: Increasingly popular, these brides design their own invitations using tools like Canva or Photoshop and then bring their creations to Anthology for professional printing. The process is complete with an in-depth exploration of the types of paper and physical materials available to you, providing the level of customization and elegance that Anthology is known for.

No matter which type of bride you are, the process of working with Anthology is easy and exciting. One look at their gorgeous product has us wanting to print custom invites for all of our UVB events!

Silky Satin and Elegant Embossing

The types of paper and materials Anthology offers can range from simple to complex. “Our most popular paper is by far the satin, and those ones are part of our standard paper line. It’s a thick, luxurious kind of like velvety feel to it, and it prints really well with photos and colors and that sort of thing.

“When we first started, satin, glossy, and matte were the papers that we offered. Since then, we’ve added linen and pearl and vellum, which is that see-through kind of overlay on top of a photo or a different design. And then, of course, we just added the torn edge about six months ago.”

Their torn-edge options are to die for and offer an even more elevated look of luxury to any invite or announcement. They also have options for embossing, which is a process of hand-stamping a plate directly into the paper, giving the text or design an even higher level of elegance. Can they do this for magazines? Asking for a friend…

Everything at Anthology is fully customizable, from the design itself to the physical materials your stationery is printed on.

Celebrate You

After 15 years in the industry, Kim has great advice for brides who are in the middle of wedding planning. “My biggest advice is to be yourself. It’s your wedding. Whatever it is that you like, do that and do it wholeheartedly. If you want to do something different, do the thing. You only really get one chance to do it.”

“As far as stationary goes, I would say to opt for something that’s easiest to do because that will save you a lot of stress and headache later.” Trust the professionals to handle the details! While buying all the materials and doing it yourself can be tempting, it often leads to unnecessary stress and time consumption. Opting for professional services ensures that every element, from design to print quality, is handled with expertise and care.

And when it comes to choosing the right design for your invites, Kim has an important piece of wisdom for every bride. “I would say honestly, always add a picture to your stationery. You’re never going to regret putting a picture of you guys in every one of your cards in your stationary, or in your total wedding suite. Guests are going to want to see who you’re marrying, they’re going to want to see you guys. It’s going to be one of those things that they’re going to put up on the fridge, even if it’s just the photo of you guys. They want to celebrate you, and they want to see you in that instance.”

Anthology Print stands out by offering tailored services that meet the diverse needs of all of our brides—we’re looking at all of you DIY girlies. Whether you want a completely custom design, semi-custom templates, or to print your very own creations, Anthology helps couples bring their wedding dreams to life, one beautifully crafted piece of stationery at a time.
