Take Your Utah Engagement Photos at Zion

These stunning Utah engagement photos have us in tears over the summer sunset and stunning views at Zion National Park. Between Kolob Canyons and the Moqui Sand Caves (and The Great Chamber!), not only are these two fated lovers gorgeous, but it’s like they were meant to be here in Utah for such stunning views.

And wait until you hear about their love story—it’s even more beautiful than these photos!

Moving Day Meet-Cute

Theirs is a meet-cute between a bride and groom you haven’t heard before—Nima was selling her furniture, and her future husband Punit was in need of a few items. Both originally from Dallas, Texas, Nima and Punit found themselves in Austin for school at the University of Texas

After graduating, Nima was looking to get rid of a few items to make it easier to move back home, and Punit answered the call. “At the time, it was a transactional meeting, and there was no further communication between us.”

But months later, Nima and her sister visited Austin again for a friend’s birthday. “We went out to our local bar scene, where my group ran into Punit. My sister said hi to Punit, while I was left confused as to who she was being so friendly with (I am terrible with names and faces). Punit approached me and I gave a half-hearted hello—to the point where he could tell that I did not recognize him. So we parted ways, and we continued with our night separately.”

But of course, the story doesn’t end there! This was her future husband after all.

“Throughout the night, I realized who he was, and I felt so bad for not knowing him at the time. When the bar closed, we coincidentally ran into each other again, and I went to apologize to him. He decided to test me and ask what his name was—unfortunately, I got it wrong. So I ended up feeling even worse. Because I got it wrong, he told me that I should text him the next day to apologize and prove I remember him. Afterwards, we became good friends for two years, and started dating thereafter. Five years later, we got married on our dating anniversary.”

If this isn’t proof that the universe has a funny way of putting two people together, then we don’t know what is!

A Proposal in Italy

Their proposal is even cuter, and it took place in none other than Lake Como, Italy.

“I planned to go to Europe with my sisters for a girls’ trip. I am very type A, and I like planning out everything to a tee. As a result, I ended up planning the entire trip aside from one day where we were going to Lake Como.”

Nima’s sister had already been to Lake Como before, and she said she would handle all the logistics. “I didn’t have any inkling that he’d be there.”

That is—until the night prior. “He was sending me Snapchats from his house throughout the day, so that reassured me that nothing was going to happen. Regardless of that, I was having butterflies and just had an intuition that something might be going down. So before I headed off to Lake Como, I asked him to FaceTime me. Little did I know, he was fully dressed in his suit and ready to leave himself, but to give me further reassurance, he quickly undressed and put his clothes from the previous Snapchats on and answered. The lighting and walls looked just like his house, so I was feeling assured that he wasn’t there, and I went about my day.”

Get you a groom that will fly all the way to Italy for you, and pull off the biggest surprise yet by convincing you he’s still at home.

“After I arrived at the villa, the tour guide directed us down a set of stairs where he was waiting for me by the water in an isolated area. It was beautiful, and he had a whole magical day for us planned afterwards.”

Planning for Six Events

When it came to wedding planning, Nima faced many ups and downs, like many brides do. But their Arlington, Texas wedding in November of 2024 had more than just your typical wedding celebrations planned.

“Since our wedding was a Hindu wedding, we had multiple events and many moving parts that made the planning process—honestly—a very difficult time. My favorite part was how close I got to my family throughout the planning process. The most difficult part was communicating with so many different vendors and getting things set in stone.”

When Nima says multiple events, she means it—their big day culminated into six different events altogether. We’ll be making a note of that for all future weddings around here… Who wouldn’t want that many ways to celebrate their love story?

Of all the planning and celebrations at each event, Nima’s favorite part was having a private dinner at their reception. “It was just us, and it really gave us a moment to take it all in and enjoy what we had planned for.”

And this world-traveling couple went even farther for their wedding attire. “I loved going to New Delhi to find my wedding outfit with my family, and subsequently designing my husband’s outfit.”

Utah Engagement Photos We Dream Of

But of course, before the big day, they had their Utah engagement photos taken right here in our favorite state. And come on, how can you not be obsessed with these two?

“I found Jessie through Instagram when I was looking into getting photos taken at Culter Cove. I’ve always loved the idea of capturing vast landscapes, but I know how hard it can be to balance the beauty of a place with the presence of people in the shot. When I saw Jessie’s work, I instantly felt a connection. Her ability to highlight both the landscape and the emotion between people was unlike anything I’d seen. I knew she was the only photographer for us.”

Jessie Lyn Photography more than just understood the assignment—she set the standard. Nima says, “I am a sucker for good sunsets,” and we have to say, we are too!

“Honestly, Jessie was the main reason we chose Utah for our engagement shoot. Her work drew us there, and we couldn’t be happier. It’s a place filled with so much natural beauty, and I could spend days exploring its breathtaking scenery!”

We have to agree—Utah’s natural beauty is good enough reason to bring anyone here!

“I’m usually camera-shy, but Jessie gave just the right amount of direction. We never felt overly posed or awkward. She let us simply exist in the moment and captured the magic as it unfolded. Being in such a vast and quiet space made me feel deeply connected to my partner and the natural world around us. With no distractions, it felt like we were the only people on Earth.”

“We started at 5:00 am and didn’t finish until 11:00 pm, that’s real dedication. I don’t know anyone other than Jessie who would pour so much into creating such an unforgettable experience. It was a once-in-a-lifetime day, and thanks to her, we have stunning photos that perfectly capture every moment.”

For all brides and couples who are in the middle of planning their wedding, Nima’s advice is, “Do what you can, and don’t stress about what you won’t be able to finish.”

And we should add, take your Utah engagement photos in Zion if you want them to be as incredible as these ones!
