City Girl Meets City Boy

Caroline and Matthew both grew up minutes apart from each other in Alpine, Utah. But they never met until they both ended up in New York City for work. After serendipitously connecting thousands of miles away from home, they traveled back to Utah for their scenic I dos, atop a mountain in Sundance, Utah.

If we had to choose only one word to describe this wedding, it would be dreamy. Between their incredible ceremony backdrop (featured in our 2026 magazine!) and the way the light filters through the trees in every photo from their day, it’s like we could step into this wedding day and into the magical romance you only see in movies. Only this one has a dash of big-city-girl-meets-big-city-boy, and we’re obsessed.

Pink and Blue Mountain I Dos

Here’s the best part of this whole wedding day: guests had to take the ski lift to get all the way to the top of the mountain for the ceremony. Talk about an iconic I do.

And to match the perfect backdrop at the top of Sundance’s ski lift? The light blue and pink color scheme that both mimics and complements the best parts of Utah’s iconic scenery. Purple mountain majesty? Try blue alpine perfection, with a pink sunset ceremony.

Caroline’s bridal look was the perfect way to bring out her city girl aesthetic while also making every forestry, floral detail really pop. She’s proof that sleek and chic is the most elegant option for brides looking for a timeless dress. We’re obsessed with the way the delicate fabric drapes over her structured bodice and fitted silhouette. And the way her long veil floats behind her as she walks down the aisle? It simply can’t be beat.

Rolling into Happily Ever After

But what’s better than gliding down the aisle? Gliding across the dance floor—in pink roller skates, of course! Caroline and Matthew donned their matching rolling footwear at their reception in a way that put all other first dances to shame.

We can’t talk about this wedding without talking about their first look and forest formals; these beautiful shots between the trees and the pre-ceremony moments make us tear up just a little bit. Just another way for Utah to show off a little bit. And then drop this bride and groom off at the top of a mountain to pledge their love to each other, and it’s almost like they’re on top of the world, literally.

Here’s all the evidence you need that a Sundance, Utah wedding, especially one on top of the mountains, is the ultimate backdrop for the most magical I dos you can dream of.
