Hey UVB, I’m Carys!
I’m absolutely thrilled to introduce myself as the new CEO of Utah Valley Bride! It’s an honor to be part of such a dynamic and inspiring community, and I’m genuinely excited for the opportunity to connect and collaborate with all of you!
I have spent my career so far as a wedding photographer: beginning from the ground up, building an associate team, and photographing hundreds of couples in Utah and beyond. It’s been an incredible journey that has taken me across the world, and I’ve loved every second of being immersed in the Utah wedding industry.
I have discovered over the past few years that my biggest passion in business was not actually photographing weddings… But instead, getting to collaborate with talented and passionate vendors, and exploring new ways of looking at businesses within the wedding industry. I look forward to supporting you, championing your work, and helping everyone grow thriving, successful businesses together!
Carys’s Role With Utah Valley Bride
As of June 2025, I have stepped in as the CEO of Utah Valley Bride, and I decided to take this next step because I have a clear vision of the potential that UVB has to impact the Utah wedding community.
The later end of my photography career was spent doing destination weddings, and I learned so much about what the wedding industry looks like outside of Utah. There is so much community and artistry… We have that within Utah already, but I want to foster it and help it become even stronger, making working in the wedding industry more stable, and making hiring wedding vendors and general wedding planning simpler and safer for couples.
I so look forward to working closely with our preferred vendors and to overseeing the operations of the company, from vendor advertising fulfillment to planning bridal shows and curating the magazine.
My biggest role is to make sure that we are sharing content that is relevant to couples planning weddings, and representing the best of the best when it comes to Utah wedding vendors!
Goals and Exciting New UVB Moments
We have a lot of big things planned for UVB this year, with more on the way for 2026! Most importantly, I want to keep what’s working, working. Brittny and Chad Hart did an incredible job creating a community, and I can’t wait to get to dive in and get to know everyone. Here are some things I’m particularly excited about, for brides and couples, and vendors!
We are going to be creating some really exciting new things for couples. From planning resources to events just for them, I want our Utah brides to know how valued they are and feel honored to be a part of the UVB community!
For vendors, both UVB preferred vendors and all of our community wedding vendors beyond, we are going to be implementing more business coaching, simplifying the advertising process, and featuring more of our amazing vendors’ real work, from social media (hello, UVB TikTok?) to the magazine.
We have so many more things planned, but they’ll be staying secret for a while (so stay tuned)!
Building On a 25 Year Legacy
I can’t wait to get to show off all of the incredible vendors in Utah. I am really looking forward to helping brides find inspiration that makes them excited to plan their weddings, and show off weddings that foster uniqueness between couples. I truly believe that weddings should be a positive experience, from getting engaged to your exit at the end of the night, and I am looking forward to helping brides plan weddings that bring them joy!
Since 2001, Utah Valley Bride has been the most incredible resource for couples not just from Utah, but for those who come from all over the world to say I do in front of our beautiful mountains, unique red rocks, and perfect snowy backdrops. I want to continue that legacy that came before, giving tribute to the team that built it from the beginning with Jeanette Bennet, and to the work that Brittny has done in the time since.
(P.S. We can’t wait to celebrate our 25-year anniversary starting in 2026! We have some big things planned!)
Utah Valley Bride will be what it always was: your go-to resource for all things weddings in Utah as the first and longest-running bridal publication in the state. We’ll also be leaning into the changes in all the best ways, so we can be the best and most effective wedding planning tool for every single Utah couple.
It is my goal to create a resource through our magazine, online, and across social media platforms that is always helpful, shareable, and saveable, to make it simpler for every person to have the wedding they dream of.
My love for the Utah wedding industry is boundless, and I can’t wait to work to make it even better! Every couple, vendor, and lover of weddings is what makes Utah Valley Bride the magic that it is. I can’t wait to share the love with all of you!
