It’s Magazine Monday! Here’s a closer look at the wonderfully effervescent wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Osmond — straight from our 2018 glossy pages.
MAY 11, 2017 // Alta + Chris
When Alta Roberts married Chris Osmond, it wasn’t going to be just any old song and dance. “Under no circumstance did I want my wedding to be this mundane thing where people would come and stand in a line to say hello to me,” Alta says. “I wanted a PARTY! And believe me, that’s what I got!” With two musical families, gorgeous greenery, a celebration in the mountains, and endless singing and dancing, Alta and Chris were a little bit romantic, a little bit rock n’ roll.
DARLING DATE “Chris surprised me with a ski trip up in Whistler, Canada. We went skiing for the day, and by nightfall we found ourselves at the bottom of a lodge that had the best Mexican food ever! Not to mention the hot chocolate.”
PERFECT PROPOSAL “Our first official date was up at Sundance Resort, which included getting dessert and walking around the area. When Chris proposed, he took me up to the Tree Room restaurant at Sundance and had the chef bring out a silver platter with the ring box inside; it was the ‘special’ for the evening.”
DREAM DRESS “Every bride is going to say they loved their dress, but I LOVED my dress! It was so fun to wear because it was a little more casual than most wedding dresses. It was so comfortable and I didn’t want to get out of it. My favorite part was the Tinkerbell sleeves. It was such a unique feature that I have never seen on any other dress.”
PICTURE THIS A secluded mountain along with gorgeous greenery set the stage for Alta and Chris’ decadent day. “It felt like we were the only ones up there at Sundance. I loved walking outside and seeing freshly blossomed plants, flowers, and trees with nothing but mountains in the background,” Alta says. “Our decor was simple but had a more whimsical vibe. The place felt dreamy.” (For the record, Alta also still dreams about that chocolate hazelnut and poppyseed lemon cake.) The celebration was captured perfectly by photographer Tyler Rye. And at the end of the evening came the unforgettable finale. Alta’s father is an incredible guitarist. His band, Contagious, jammed while guests danced the night away. Chris’ father — Provo’s own Donny Osmond — joined in on the fun and the tunes. “My most memorable moment was dancing my heart out with my new husband, family and friends,” Alta says.
