Vibrant Vows

This purple Park City wedding has us changing all of our wedding inspo color palettes to purple. Brynn and Gordon’s love story began in an unexpected way—after a brief interaction at Brynn’s sister’s wedding in 2016, neither of them was interested in dating each other. At the time, Brynn was living in New York and Gordon was in Los Angeles, both leading completely separate lives on opposite sides of the country. But their story was far from over.

Fast forward to 2021, when their paths crossed again in Utah. Brynn had relocated for a hospital administration fellowship, and Gordon, whose work had gone remote due to COVID, also made the move to Utah. Despite their past encounters and years of family connections, they reconnected on a dating app—and this time, the connection was undeniable.

Everything seemed perfect until their love story took a challenging turn in 2022 when Gordon was diagnosed with cancer.

“It was a new phase in our relationship. I basically told Brynn she could be in or out, but she stuck with me and made it clear that I was her priority.”

Brynn stood by Gordon throughout the difficult journey, and the experience brought them closer than ever. “It was obviously a really terrible time, but also a beautiful time. We became vulnerable with each other and got to know each other on a deeper level.”

They faced his cancer diagnosis with grace and humor, joking that they’d either break up or get married after the experience—luckily for us, they chose the latter!

Gordon proposed at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. He surprised Brynn on a balcony, complete with a beautiful charcuterie board and flowers, creating an intimate and unforgettable moment filled with emotion. Who doesn’t love a romantic engagement at the Grand America?

Focus on Family

As they began planning their Park City wedding, they knew they wanted to focus on family. Both Brynn and Gordon had experienced significant losses in their families, making the joyous occasion all the more meaningful.

They prioritized including their loved ones in the celebration, opting for a small, intimate civil ceremony in Brynn’s parents’ backyard in Houston over Thanksgiving in 2023, and a temple sealing the following January, before their main celebration in May.

“It was low-key and perfect,” Brynn shared. “There was no pressure, and it was really beautiful to have that intimate group with us.”

A Stunning Park City Wedding in May

But their Park City wedding was the opposite of low-key, and we’re high-key thrilled about it. Every single detail was nothing short of magical, set against a stunning mountainside backdrop.

“We really wanted every detail to reflect the unique nature of our relationship and some of our unique elements. We wanted it to feel intentional, and we wanted it to feel like an event that was designed for people to come and enjoy, and to be together and spend time together.”

From custom corn hole lawn games to a seating chart inspired by Formula One racing (a favorite hobby of Brynn’s), nothing was left untouched by their love story. “We wanted our guests to feel really seen, but we also wanted to infuse every element with us.”

And their Utah wedding vendors are all to thank for creating such a spectacular event!

“We were very selective about our vendors. We wanted to work with people who we felt were a really wonderful blend of creative and professional, and we wanted to work with people who really listened to us.” Brynn and Gordon simply can’t stop gushing about every vendor they chose.

Amazing Park City Wedding Vendors

And one look at their florals alone is proof of that—to say we’re obsessed is an understatement.

Marianne was so amazing about listening to all of the crazy things I was saying. I wanted the inspiration for the design to be my dress since my dress was very floral, and she executed it beyond our wildest dreams. That was really wonderful.”

The Park City wedding colors, a beautiful palette of purples, harmonized with the breathtaking Park City scenery. From her bouquet to the florals that lined the aisle, our jaws are on the floor every time we see these photos—and that’s all thanks to Jackie Siggard Photo and Video.

“Jackie and Paul, our photographer and videographer, had us fill out all these forms about us and initially I was thinking it was too much information. But as soon as they came to our sealing, it was like an immediate click. We felt comfortable, we felt at ease, we knew they were going to capture the best shots because of how natural we were able to feel.”

And speaking of her dress, Brynn walked down the aisle in a breathtaking gown that perfectly matched her vibrant personality—the colorful dress that was the foundation of every wedding planning detail to follow. And it’s covered in sparkles. If you’re looking for a sign to have a non-traditional wedding dress, this is absolutely it!

Furry Family

Brynn and Gordon incorporated every detail with personal elements, paying tribute to their families. Brynn wore a vintage locket containing photos of her grandparents, honoring the love stories that came before them. And they even brought their favorite furry family member, Brynn’s pug.

“My aunt used material from my dress to make him a bow tie. He came running up in his little tux and bow tie made out of my dress material. So even that was beautiful and special.”

Above all else, beyond just the gorgeous color palette and incredible live band, or the venue of their dreams and a coordinator that made it all happen—or even the cake that had hand-painted designs inspired by her wedding gown—for Brynn and Gordon it was a day for spending time with the people they love. “We wanted our wedding to feel like a warm embrace, filled with the love of our families and friends. It was everything I had dreamed of.”

“Seeing everyone we love come together to celebrate us made the day even more special. It truly was a dream come true.”

Take it from these two, a Park City wedding is the way to go. With perfect purples and a pug in a bow tie, this wedding is definitely one you’ll be wanting to use for inspiration!
