A Utah Love Story Come to Life

Hannah and Ethan’s Utah love story began everyone’s favorite way—on a dating app. They both had low hopes of finding “the one,” but it ended up being exactly what they needed in order to find each other!

They immediately hit it off, but after their first date they drifted apart. “About a month went by when out of the blue Ethan reached and said he knew it had been a while but he had been thinking about me and wanted to go out on a date! Looking back I think, ‘Hallelujah he had the courage to reach out again,’ or else I would have missed out!”

He picked her up in a suave vintage truck he restored—the same one that would later become their getaway car at their Utah wedding! “That was when I felt a spark. But not like one I had ever had before. It’s hard to describe, but people who have found their soulmate know what I mean. When I tell you I was hooked from that moment on.”

Since that day, they were inseparable, and they got engaged a year later on a snowy path up the canyon strewn with rose petals. Spoiler alert, Hannah said yes! The next chapter in this Utah love story was all about their wedding.

Utah Love Story, Utah Wedding

When it came to wedding planning, Hannah knew immediately that she wanted help. So she hired a wedding planner—Abbie from Everson Events. We’d like to thank her personally for the incredible way she executed Hannah’s vision!

“Best decision ever for me. She listened to what I wanted, saw my vision, and then executed it—and before she made the final calls, came back to have me approve it and everything was perfect. I could not recommend my wedding planner more, especially because we had such a short engagement. After I hired her, everything was smooth sailing.”

Hannah and Ethan had a few priorities when it came to their Utah wedding, and the first one was the food. “The food had to be good. It was important to both of us but it was Ethan’s top priority by far. And boy was it! Our caterer made the best dinner and I have heard from so many people at our wedding that it was delicious.”

We love it when a groom gets involved!

And he didn’t just jump in when it was time to eat—Ethan was the one who chose their wedding colors.

Get the Groom

“I think that the florals of an event, especially a wedding, are crucial. Flowers have so much personality and are able to capture and convey so much emotion. I wanted ours to of course be beautiful but also create a narrative of elegance and whimsy that kind of mirrored our personality and our love. Ethan is actually the one who picked out our wedding colors and I loved what he picked. Our flowers were to die for.”

We have to agree—one look at these florals from Market Florals has us on the ground and fanning ourselves. Any future Utah wedding out there, start here!

And the flowers added to the garden party vibe Hannah had dreamed up.

“I wanted it to be dreamy, romantic, and fun, kind of like a fairy tale ending.”

We’d say this Utah wedding definitely looks like a fairy tale come true—a Utah love story fit for any romance novel with a happy ending!

Perfect Fairytale Moments

Hannah and Ethan were married in the Orem Utah LDS temple in an afternoon ceremony. “It was nice to not be in a rush and to be able to sleep in. Our ceremony was sacred and beautiful.”

Take this as a sign to have your ceremony in the afternoon!

Hannah’s favorite moment from the whole wedding day was the moment she got to share with her new husband, just the two of them, at their venue Wadley Farms.

“When we were waiting to do our exit we went into the barn at our venue and waited for everyone to set up and get ready. It was just us two in there and the lights were dimmed and one of my favorite songs played and we slow danced just us two. It was so nice because there was no one looking at us. No guests or vendors or photographers just us two. It was unplanned and made it feel even more special. Like time stopped on our special day.”

There’s no better detail to a Utah love story than feeling like time has stopped with the person you love the most.

Some other details Hannah loved (and that we love even more) were the churro truck and soda bar at their reception. She and Ethan chose their favorite soda flavors and invented their very own drinks—named after them of course!

Another great detail were the polaroid cameras they had for their guests. “We had some cameras there for guests and it was really sweet that so many people took candid pictures of us—or of moments I may not have noticed—and gave them to us to remember our day!”

It’s always fun to look back on your wedding day through the eyes of your guests!

Enjoy Your Utah Wedding Planning

Hannah’s advice to couples in the middle of planning their own Utah wedding is to enjoy the process. “I know it’s stressful but it doesn’t last forever. Do as much of it together as you can and just be in the moment and in love. I think also just try to make your wedding as you as possible and dont be afraid to make it as personalized as you want.”

We agree with Hannah—it’s your big day, and it only happens once! Enjoy the journey with your soon-to-be spouse and focus on the relationship you have with them. Take this Utah love story as inspo for your own!

From the sweet moments to the stunning florals of their big day, it’s safe to say that we’re more than just obsessed with Hannah and Ethan’s Utah wedding—we’re downright in love. Just as in love as these two newlyweds.
