Hole in One

Our last 2025 Magazine feature of the year, and our last magazine cover feature!

Kenli and Jared’s love story began as friends, and then it blossomed into something more. After he asked her to be his girlfriend, the two were inseparable. Kenli would go to all of Jared’s volleyball games at BYU, and as a former Utah State soccer player herself, these two athletes were the perfect “match” for each other!

Jared proposed on Easter with a surprise visit to their future home. In the last room of the tour, he had set up a gorgeous proposal complete with a song he wrote just for Kenli on the guitar. Swoon!

And from there they jumped into wedding planning…and jumped into golf. “It was really cute, when we got engaged, Jared’s family’s introduction to me going into their family was that they got me a set of clubs, and some really cute golf balls that were personalized and pink, and we started golfing together a lot. That’s something that we even still do.”

Jared even brags on his sporty wife that she already got her first birdie when they started playing together, even though she had never played until the spring of 2024!

When they were planning their Utah garden wedding, they wanted a lot of personalized details, and that included personalized golf balls as wedding favors. Talk about a hole-in-one for your guests!

Pink, Pink, Pink

Another big part of wedding planning for Kenli was that she knew she always wanted her wedding to be super pink, and Jared was a good sport about going along with it. He’s also colorblind, so he says it was really the least he could do.

“I just really wanted everything to be pink and garden-y and floral, and that’s always been my dream.” And we have to say, her dream absolutely came true. There isn’t a better place for that pink garden wedding to come to life than at the Loggia at Thanksgiving Point; they’re known for their gardens. From the trellises decked in roses to the custom signage around their venue space, every detail was perfect and pink. And we’re not mad about it.

The Rehearsal Dinner

They kicked off their Utah garden wedding celebrations with a rehearsal dinner at Siempre the night before, which was no small affair. We’re having a hard time deciding which event had more roses, the dinner or the reception. It was a gorgeous and sentimental moment for both of their families to kick off the wedding weekend.

“Everybody who spoke did an amazing job at our dinner, and in particular, Jared’s mom shared a poem she wrote. It was about us and our story, and it was really, really cute. I was not expecting that. And it was a tear-jerker.”

And Jared’s sister played a beautiful piece on the violin. Who doesn’t love a romantic string piece at dinner?

They even had mini golf set up outside, complete with trivia about the bride and groom and cute custom scorecards! Every detail of the dinner was absolutely stunning, and that was only the beginning.

The Utah Garden Wedding Day

The next day, Kenli and Jared were sealed in the LDS Draper Temple. “Getting sealed was super special, having all our friends and family there.”

After their LDS temple ceremony, they made their way to their incredible reception space. “We had all of our bridal party kind of come a little bit early, just to enjoy each other’s time for a while and company, and get more pictures.”

Even their bridal party was decked out in personalized details; all of the bridesmaids were wearing Kenli’s signature clear shoes, and all of Jared’s groomsmen were wearing custom suits with their own choice of fun lining and their initials embroidered into them.

And the amazing details just kept on giving. “Maddie, who does all the signage, really helped personalize the reception, and I feel like she pulled all the details together. She and Marianne (the florist) together made it so amazing. They took the trellis and made it so personal to us. We did the his and hers sign, which was super fun.”

They even had custom pillows that matched!

“That got to tell more about us because we both love sports, we love music, we love having fun together, which was really nice because I wanted to incorporate that, but I didn’t know how. I didn’t have the vision, and I feel like that’s something that Maddie was really good at capturing and doing; taking things about us and our relationship and us individually and transferring that into a beautiful art form.”

We have to agree, the signs alone belong in a museum, they’re so gorgeous.

Dancing and a Firework Send-Off

And no Utah garden wedding is complete without a little dancing, and Jared was the star of the show. “On the volleyball team, there’s a thing that I do where when we win a game, we shake hands with the other side, and our whole team makes a circle, and then I jump into the circle. Whenever we win a game, that’s kind of my thing. And we did that during the dance, it was kind of fun to incorporate that into there.” And Kenli loved being able to experience that moment with him!

All the way up until their send-off, complete with aerial fireworks, was a perfect celebration of love and personalized pink details.

“It was super fun for everyone to enjoy. I feel like it was a super easy space for everybody to mingle and for us to just get to spend time and really talk to everybody that was there during our reception. It was great. We were never stressed, we never had any worries. Everything was awesome.”

What couple doesn’t want a wedding like this one?

Wedding Planning Advice

Jared’s advice to couples who are about to have their own wedding day is to be present. “Do everything you can beforehand, but then on the wedding day, just don’t even worry about it. Do your best to just be in the moment.”

Kenli adds her own advice about the wedding planning process. “Remember that it’s about the two of you, and make it personal and do what you guys want to at your wedding, because that was something that really made it fun for us.”

“We were able to combine our two worlds, and a lot of personal detail was added that made it so special for us. Check in with each other about what you want and how you want things to go. Talk to each other, communicate about it. It’s supposed to be fun!”

From the pink garden magic to the small details that incorporated their love story, Kenli and Jared’s Utah garden wedding was the perfect way to celebrate their relationship. We only wish we were there to take a few swings on the mini golf course with them and grab our own set of pink golf balls too!
