Alexandria Pugh + Ethan Evans // June 10, 2016

Highland’s Alexandria Pugh met her husband, Ethan Evans, through mutual friends and later bonded on a “snowshoeing trip gone wrong.” But their love story is oh-so-right.

After a year and a half of dating, Ethan proposed after an afternoon of zip lining at Sundance and dinner in Park City. On the way home, Ethan, who is from Logan, suggested a “detour” that led them to a bridge covered in lights, flowers and a giant “A&E” for Alex and Ethan. The couple’s song was playing and he pulled her in for a slow dance before popping the question.

The romantic proposal was followed by wedding planning with her mom at her side. The only trick? Finding the perfect venue. After searching high and low, Alex and her mom decided to host their reception at a friend’s private residence in Orem. Alex loved all the different seating areas, and she added lighting overhead and floating paper lanterns in the pool to set the mood.

“Once we figured out a venue, everything else fell into place,” Alex says.

Alex and Ethan were married at the Salt Lake LDS Temple and their reception was held later that night. The live band and delicious pizza and gelato gave the evening a relaxed vibe that made guests want to linger.

“I was so pleased that people came, stayed and had a great time,” Alex says.

GET THE PICTURE Alex’s gown from The Perfect Dress was love at first sight. “I explained what I was looking for and the first dress they pulled was the one I bought.” Then Alex took that gorgeous gown of hers to the mouth of Parley’s Canyon where her photographer, Alixann Loosle, took magical bridal photos. “Alixann finds the most random places to take photos that end up being absolutely beautiful,” Alex says. For the bride’s wedding day locks, she kept things beautifully natural with loose curls. “I didn’t want something so fancy I couldn’t move my head or that I had to be careful with,” Alex explains. “I just wanted something pretty and simplistic.” Mission accomplished.
