French Market Wedding

Kennedy and Dylan’s love story is as charming as it is unique. They first crossed paths through a series of “mutual” connections—Kennedy matched with his roommate on a dating app. Not only that, but Kennedy’s cousin lived down the street from Dylan, and through a little matchmaking magic (and Dylan’s persistence), the two ended up on a first date. From there, sparks flew, and they quickly became inseparable.

A chance meeting thanks to family connections led to a romantic spring celebration that brought a slice of Europe to these two love birds. Kennedy and Dylan’s wedding day was everything they dreamed of and more.

And everything we dream of too—with a fun French market wedding theme, we’re simply obsessed with every detail. From the custom ribbon to the crest on the dance floor, we’re considering moving to France just from looking at these photos.

Bringing a European Destination Wedding to You

“In another world, I would get married in Italy or France at a destination wedding, but it was really important for me to have everybody I love from all different walks of life there. So I just kind of brought Europe to me.” We’re with Kennedy—who doesn’t want a European destination wedding?

“A springy French market is what I wanted. We had the cute gelato cart on the bikes, the cotton candy cart, with the cute scalloped umbrellas. One of my favorite parts about the reception was the umbrellas hanging from the tent ceiling with all of the flowers.”

And that’s not even the start of it. Every detail was carefully curated to fit the “springy French market wedding” vibe Kennedy had envisioned.

“My favorite part was the flower market.” In true Parisian style, guests were able to build their own bouquets from a selection of fresh blooms, which were then wrapped in custom wrapping paper designed to match the wedding’s aesthetic. Even their paper goods had a French twist!

“I wanted something super unique and different to give my guests, an interactive experience for them.” Not only was it a gorgeous entrance to their venue, but it was a flowery wedding favor that left her guests with a beautiful memento of the day.

More French Market Wedding Details

The thoughtful details didn’t stop there. Bridesmaids traded traditional bouquets for floral-adorned parasols—the same ones that lined the ceilings at the reception. And Kennedy’s favorite artist, Claude Monet, made a special appearance via the guest book. Instead of a typical sign-in book, guests signed their names on the pages of a Monet art book—further tying the wedding’s French theme together in a personal and elegant way. It was, how you say, the pièce de résistance.

Even her colors—the perfect shade of blue and champagne—were touched with a hint of French market wedding charm. And it’s ultimately what inspired the entire French theme.

“I knew I always wanted champagne as a color, and blue just happened to pair really well with that—it was a really cool spring color palette. I didn’t think that’s what I always wanted, but that’s what I fell upon and I loved it.”

And we love it even more. As Claude Monet put it, “Color is my daylong obsession, joy, and torment.” He was definitely talking about Kennedy and Dylan’s wedding.

Chic Costume Change

No French market wedding would be complete without a killer dance party, and Kennedy and Dylan’s reception did not disappoint. The couple kicked off the fun with a sequence of special dances, including a heartwarming father-daughter dance and their much-anticipated first dance as husband and wife.

“I loved all of the dances, but there’s just something special about having the daddy-daughter dance and then going right into your first dance. It’s the moment you dream of since you are a little girl.”

When it was time to party, Kennedy made a quick outfit change into a dance-ready look featuring a chic pearl overlay, custom Nike Dunks, and matching white sweatpants—perfect for a bride who wants to let loose on the dance floor. Guests joined in the fun with blue sunglasses (a nod to Kennedy’s signature French blue color) and partied under the parasols with bubbles floating through the air. Where can we get a pair of blue sunglasses for ourselves?

“It was such a fun springy wedding. I wanted it to feel like an event for my guests. I wanted them to come and stay, have things to do, make their bouquets, get some gelato, get some cotton candy, sit down, and enjoy the night.”

From beginning to end, Kennedy and Dylan’s French market wedding day was filled with meaningful, elegant moments that reflected their personalities and their love for each other. Whether it was the matching custom Dunks, the make-your-own flower bouquet, or the bounce house for the kids, every detail contributed to a day that felt like a step into the French countryside.

Looking back, Kennedy’s advice for future brides is simple yet meaningful. “Focus on what matters most—anything that lasts beyond the wedding day is worth it. And stick together on your wedding day. No one gets to pull the groom away from you. You should talk to everyone as a unit.”

And of course, don’t forget to grab a spoonful of gelato on your way out!
