Ana + James

It’s Magazine Monday! And today we have the divine destination celebration of Ana and James, who wed in Park City on June 15, 2019. Trust us, friends — you don’t want to miss scrolling through this impeccable day.

Ana Guimaraes and James Tedori have a world-class romance. After meeting at business school on the East Coast, their friendship turned to love. They got engaged in Iceland, and then said “I do” surrounded by the green goodness of Utah’s mountains.

But back to that proposal. James surprised Ana with a New Year’s trip to Iceland. Because James is a spontaneous traveler, Ana didn’t think anything of it.

“The day we landed he wanted to go hiking at this waterfall,” Ana says. “I was not wearing my hiking clothes, and we were trekking through an icy river, jumping from rock to rock until we made it inside the frozen waterfall. Then I turned around and James was down on one knee. It took me completely by surprise. I was speechless!”

After her fabulously frozen proposal, Ana started planning her sunny summer wedding with the pros at Michelle Leo Events.

Her inviting invitation — complete with incredible mountain illustrations — brought together guests from their home states of California and New York. Ana also tucked the pink handkerchief of her late grandmother into her bouquet to keep her memory close. It was a family-centered celebration, bursting with joy, dancing and heartfelt moments.

PICTURE THIS Ana and James kicked off their destination celebration by treating guests to welcome bags full of personalized wedding swag, including a jar of Ana’s favorite Brazilian cake. (Ana’s family is originally from Rio de Janeiro.) The entire event was perfectly pulled off by the Michelle Leo Events team. The wow-worthy florals included a greenery-strewn tent and sprawling stems at the ceremony. Oh, and that bow on Ana’s gown? Let’s give it a bow. “My wedding gown was the total opposite of what I thought I wanted,” Ana says. “But I kept coming back to it, and the bow sold me. The dress is timeless from the front — something I could love 30 years from now. But I absolutely loved the drama of the bow from the back.”
