All About The Chase

For Provo’s Sloane MacCabe, it was all about the Chase. “I was so intimidated by his looks and was too scared to talk to him,” she says. And for Chase Crane, the feeling was mutual. “She was stunning and gorgeous,” he says. “The type of girl you only come across once in a blue moon.” The lovestruck lovebirds started dating in 2009, and a few weeks later vacationed together in New York City. Four years later? They were back in New York City for a life-changing weekend. “We were on a cute tree-lined street and no one else was around,” Sloane says. “We had been in NYC for three days already, and he had been carrying the ring around in his pocket everyday waiting for the right time.” The right time came — and so did the right answer. And then came the wedding planning! It was fun — and stressful. “I planned every detail on my own,” she says. “My wedding was something I dreamed of since I was a little girl, and I wanted to make sure it looked just as I had imagined.” And from the dreamy dress (those sleeves — seriously!) to the sparkle-lit farm tables to the delicious BBQ, every detail of their “summer mountain” wedding was decked with beauty and love. The only detail Sloane forgot? Chase’s ring! “I got to the altar and realized I didn’t have HIS ring! (I actually thought he had it in his own pocket.) I announced to the crowd that I had left his ring in the cabin and it caused quite the chuckle. His friend who was sitting on the front row took his own ring off and passed it up for us to use for the ceremony. Whew! We still laugh about that to this today.” In the end? Love always rings true.
