Miranda & Cole Vasic | 05.17.2024
Tying it All Together
This timeless Utah wedding will have you screenshotting every photo for your own inspo boards. Love stories often unfold in unexpected ways, and Miranda and Cole’s is proof that sometimes, fate works behind the scenes. Their love story began in 2021 with a serendipitous blind date orchestrated by a mutual coworker turned friend—someone Miranda hadn’t spoken to in years.
“It was so random. She asked him if he’d go on a date with me, and the rest is history! There was just something after our first date, and I kept wanting to hang out with him more and more.”
Take this as a sign that blind dates can lead to happily ever after! “You hear that blind dates work, but it was completely in the dark, I had no idea what he looked like, so it’s just kind of crazy that that would happen to me.”
Timeless, Elegant, and Pink
Two years later, they were married on a dreamy spring day, incorporating her love of all things bows at a timeless Utah wedding.
Miranda’s vision for their wedding was clear from the start—she wanted something she could look back on in 20 years and still love. “I just wanted something timeless and elegant, something that I would look back on and not cringe about. I really wanted everything to stand the test of time.”
We’d say she accomplished her goal—we’ll be obsessed with this wedding for the next 20 years, making it the literal definition of a timeless Utah wedding.
And according to Miranda, she’s always had specifics in mind. “I definitely had a vision, I mean everyone has a Pinterest board from the time they were in high school.” We can definitely say we have—and these photos are right at the top.
The color palette was a dreamy mix of pinks and creams, reflecting Miranda’s love for all things feminine, while bows—a big favorite of ours—were featured throughout her décor and attire.
“I’ve always loved the color pink, and everything feminine, and so I wanted to play off of that. And obviously, I love bows, which are very trendy right now, and I couldn’t not do bows.”
She’s right—you can’t not do bows!
From her gorgeous cake to the stunning bow accents on her getting-ready dress, and even the delicate lace-up detail on the back of her wedding gown, every bow detail really tied the timeless Utah wedding theme together perfectly.
Untraditional But Still Timeless Utah Wedding
Finding the Magnolia Event Center as their venue felt like fate. Her mother discovered the location while it was still undergoing renovations. “As soon as I saw the pictures, I knew it was the one. We didn’t even look at any other venues.”
And you’ll agree—one look at the stunning white interiors and sparkling chandeliers proves that it was the perfect backdrop for their timeless Utah wedding theme. “It was everything I envisioned.” Between their photos from their wedding day and their bridals at La Caille, we’re swooning over how stunningly everything came together.
“As far as vendors go, I had the best experience. Everyone I worked with was super awesome. They really nailed down my vision.”
When it comes to typical wedding day traditions, Miranda and Cole mixed it up a bit, adding their own unique touches and perfectly curating the day to fit their needs. Rather than having an open reception, they wanted everyone to stick around for the whole celebration.
“We had more of an untraditional wedding—it was still traditional in the sense that we had the ceremony, and I walked down the aisle, which I absolutely loved, but as far as the reception went, I wanted something more intimate. I wanted the guests to feel special and more involved, so we just had a sit-down dinner, and then we had our parents, and our best man, and maid of honor give speeches.”
And sweet, sentimental speeches are everyone’s favorite part of a wedding! “That was really fun because we got to hear some of their perspectives about us. It was super sweet to hear those stories again, and bring back all the emotions from when we first started dating.”
Another way that their wedding strayed from a typical wedding reception was by cutting out the need for any dances. “We didn’t do any dancing, but I did cut the cake, and that was also really fun. My aunt made the cake, and she nailed it with the pink in the bow.” We have to agree emphatically—she nailed it!
Sweet Moments
While the reception didn’t follow your typical wedding day festivities, the ceremony was a moment that left everyone teary-eyed—including Miranda.
“My favorite part was walking down the aisle. I always knew that the whole day was going to be really emotional, but I did not expect that to be the most emotional part. It was super sweet, I remember turning around the corner and seeing my husband at the end of the aisle, and I just completely lost it.”
And now we’re losing it too after seeing these pictures. “It was such a tender moment, feeling how lucky and happy I was, and my dad got to walk me down, which made it extra special too.”
Another favorite moment for them was exchanging private vows. “Instead of being in front of everyone, it was a lot more intimate, and it was special just being the two of us.”
Miranda infused her wedding day with sentimental tributes to her family, including her something borrowed and something blue. A locket passed down from her great-grandmother, which had become a tradition for the women in her family, was wrapped around her bouquet as a reminder of her late aunt. More timeless Utah wedding details!
“All of us girls who are starting to get married are using that as their something borrowed.”
She also wore a blue ring passed down from another great-grandmother—her something blue—adding another layer of family history to her day. “There’s something special about having those unique items passed down.”
One unexpected joy for Miranda and Cole was the overwhelming support they received from friends and family. “We were shocked at our RSVP list. We were sure we’d get lots of no’s because so many guests had to travel, but almost everyone said yes—we almost got 100% ‘Yeses.’ It was really sweet to see all these people who wanted to support us in this new phase of our life.”
Statement Sleeves
And we simply can’t talk about this wedding without mentioning Miranda’s show-stopping wedding dress! I mean, how can you not gasp when you see it?
“We had gone to a few other places before I found the dress, and none of the ones I had tried on were calling my name. I have always loved fashion—I work in fashion right now, and so I have always loved being unique, and standing out, and having something that I don’t see super often.”
“And then we went to Alta Moda. I remember we walked in, and it was the very first one they had pulled for me, and everyone, including myself, was jaw-dropped. It was just meant to be. It was the first one I tried on.”
The gorgeous sleeves, which we will never get over, stole her heart. “I wanted a statement, and those sleeves were just screaming my name.” We’re screaming too.
Miranda’s advice for brides is simple but profound. “Go with your gut. Don’t overthink things.” Having planned their wedding in just eight weeks, she learned the value of making quick decisions and sticking with them. “You don’t have to linger on every choice—trust yourself, and it will all come together.”
She also reminds brides to lean on their vendors and loved ones. “Ask all the questions you need to—so many people are there to help. You don’t have to do it all yourself.”
“There are so many talented people here in Utah, and they will absolutely nail what you’re envisioning. Trust them and enjoy the process, because you only get to do it once.” We may be a little bit biased, but Miranda’s right—there isn’t a better place than Utah to find the most talented wedding vendors in the world, who can make your big day perfect.
From the perfectly pink bows to the emotional walk down the aisle, Miranda and Cole’s wedding was a beautiful celebration of their love, family, and future together. Their day, captured flawlessly by their photographer Ariel, was everything Miranda dreamed of—timeless, elegant, and filled with sentimental details that made it uniquely theirs. It was a perfectly timeless Utah wedding.
