Northridge Valley’s Indoor and Outdoor Ceremony Options
Are you in the middle of deciding whether or not to have an indoor or an outdoor wedding ceremony? What about finding a venue that can do both? You’ll have your I dos inside and your reception outside… Or vice versa. But how do you decide?
Take it from Jessica at Northridge Valley, it all comes down to finding a great venue that can do it all to make the decision easier. “Northridge is the ideal indoor-outdoor venue because of the three different spaces. It easily flows to a west garden ceremony to a social hour on the east side, so while you take more photos, your guests can socialize. Then come inside for dinner and the reception.”
But how do you know where to do what? It all depends on what your priorities are for your ceremony.
How Do You Want to Say I Do?
When couples are deciding where and how to set up their ceremony, Jessica leans into the details of their love story.
“By getting to know them and their story, we quickly find out what is most important to them and go from there. Do they want an open, spacious feeling, or do they want a closer, intimate setting? We let them decide as we are guiding them through their process and having so much fun doing it.”
There are always pros and cons to deciding between an indoor and an outdoor ceremony (but really, there are only pros at Northridge).
“Northridge is unique due to the arch and backdrops being so customizable. We’ve had couples put the arch in at least eight different places outside, and three inside. From the inside fireplace to the grapevine trellis, say your I do’s in the location that is ideally chosen by you.”
And of course, no two weddings are exactly the same. “Not one wedding is ever the same here at Northridge; each wedding day is as unique and special as the couple we are celebrating!”
Indoor Wedding Ceremony Setup
If you’ve ever been to Northridge Valley, you know exactly how cozy it really is; there’s a reason it’s called ‘The Gathering Place.’
Jessica loves seeing how every couple embraces the homey and intimate setting of an indoor ceremony with decor and details.
“I love seeing heavy drapes on the ceiling and simple drapes on the fireplace with candles lining the aisles. We’ve also had several use the west windows as their backdrop, and use the arch decorated with florals to create a stunning floral trellis that has the outside garden supporting their vision of an outside-inside feel.”
Why choose one when you can have both?
And Jessica’s personal favorite? Impossible to choose just one.
“Oh boy, that is a hard question. We still swoon over the full floral arch in front of the window. The winter weddings dripped in pine garlands and lots of candles are pretty amazing as well!”
“What is nice about our indoor space is that it can be dressed up or left alone on its own. With all the natural light and warm hues, and coziness of it all, it doesn’t take much to make it your own. We’ve seen it all, from over-the-top florals in every space to one stunning piece on top of the fireplace; making it your own is what we are always encouraging.”
Seating Charts Inspo
Don’t even get us started on seating charts. “Our favorite ceremony setups are when the couple has a very clear vision and we help make it happen. We love that they make it their own. From seating charts on mirrors to reserved seats on canvas, they are all as unique as the couple, just how it should be.”
Jessica has seen all kinds of ideas for ceremony seating charts and beyond, and every time, the most stand-out ones are the ones with the most love.
“I have loved the personal letters written to guests, the walls of interests, and the story behind the couple and their guests. Any seating chart that expresses gratitude and love for those supporting your union and wedding day is our favorite.”
“Along with expressing their personality. We had one couple that had different college teams for each table, and that is where and how they knew each of their guests on those tables!”
Outdoor Wedding Ceremony Setup
As many pros as there are to an indoor wedding ceremony, there are just as many for outdoor ceremonies.
“Just recently we had a couple use our arch for a ‘doorway’ with drapes that opened and closed after every person in the procession, like chapel doors. They were able to create a special, secluded ceremony using some creativity. It was a very special, sacred day of the joining of a very special family.”
Proof that you can have your “doors opening” bridal moment even outside!
Jessica’s favorite outdoor space at Northridge is “probably the grapevine trellis. It is surrounded by greenery and shows Maple Mountain beautifully in the background.”
And those mountain views are part of what makes a ceremony so special at Northridge. “It is beautiful, natural, elegant, and affordable luxury with the incredible mountain views without the drive. Its effortless elegance and timeless charm make it perfect for any type of wedding.”
Tips and Tricks For Your Aisle Moments
No matter which direction you choose to go for your ceremony, inside or out, Jessica and her team have all the best ideas for making your I do’s the most magical moment it can (and should) be!
“We recently reserved the first two rows of the front of the ceremony and had the procession file into the second rows after walking down the aisle before the bride. This allowed them to sit comfortably and watch their best friends get married in a front row manner.”
But that’s not even all of it. “We encourage the front rows to flip from tradition a little. So the bride’s family can see the bride’s face, and the groom’s family sees his face instead of the back of their heads during the ceremony.”
And there’s plenty more where that came from. When your venue owner has years of expertise as a wedding planner, you know you’re in great hands.
So Which Do I Choose?
You really can’t go wrong; it simply comes down to however you want to celebrate and how you want the rest of your wedding day to go as well.
“We love social hour and playing yard games. The east side of the venue casts a beautiful shadow in the summer, making it a perfect place to visit with wedding guests. The west gardens are filled with shade trees and create a cozy, timeless, homey feel that welcomes families and friends to stroll and take in the mountain views.”
If you ask Jessica if she would choose an indoor or an outdoor wedding ceremony, it would be nearly impossible to choose. But, you really can’t beat the magic of that trellis.
“It would completely be based on the season, but we absolutely love our grapevine garden area with Maple Mountain being the backdrop for photos. It is timeless and stunning, with a very cozy and warm feeling. You feel like the entire ceremony and guests are wrapped up in an intimate embrace.”
Take this as an opportunity to check out Northridge yourself, and Jessica can help you decide between indoor I dos and outdoor I love yous. According to her, “You and your guests will be grateful you went with Northridge; it’s a place where a lot of our couples don’t want the day to end. The quality and value of what you are getting is not like anywhere else. Our attention to detail and helping you plan and execute your day is bar none the best out there. We love to take the stress off you and your family so you can enjoy your day, celebrating every moment!”
